APPLICANTS
We are open to artists and designers from all countries and nationalities who want to develop experimental work that questions and challenges their thinking and practice, and participate in a residency in an active way, engaging with the DELLI community, colleagues, mentors and institutions.

Applicants are usually bachelor's or master's students, teachers and researchers in art and design, but there is no mandatory prerequisite of having a formal art education.

Who can apply for residency?

Students, alumni and teachers from the DELLI community and Lusófona University. Artists and designers who have been invited or are part of a team that includes at least one member of the DELLI community (student or teacher). The residency is open to artists and designers from all countries and nationalities.

If you don't belong to the DELLI community and haven't been formally invited, you can submit a pre-proposal and invite one or more members from the DELLI community to work with you.

Can I apply as a duo/collective?

We accept individual, duo or collective applications. During the pre-application process, each member must submit an individual CV and portfolio. The group should provide information on how they work together, what their division of labour is and how they envisage the future of working collectively.

Is there an age limit?

There are no age restrictions for an application to the PENSÃO.
What are we looking for?

Artists and designers who have an original approach to art and design. It's important that this approach comes across in the pre-proposal and in the portfolio, which should be focused on quality rather than quantity, giving a clear idea of the content, interests and formal aspects of their practice.

Candidates who have an independent practice during or after their training can benefit from the experimental and critical environment of this residency to initiate or deepen their interests and broaden their artistic thinking and practice, as well as create their own network of contacts. Candidates with more experience can expand their artistic practice in collaborative and transdisciplinary projects, in an open, exploratory and educational environment, in permanent contact with other artists, designers, institutions and ateliers.

We're open to finding out what interests you about taking part in this residency, fostering that desire and helping you achieve your goals.
